Primary Rewards
Primary children work towards two reward systems. The first is a weekly reward system where each pupil can earn dojo points for positive behaviour or excellent work. The pupil with the most dojo points at the end of the week wins a small prize from the goody bag. The second reward scheme is our half termly reward scheme where the points will be collected from sleuth and dojo. When a pupil reaches 150 points, they get a note home; 300 points is a special certificate; 450 points a dip in the goody bag; 600 points £5 voucher and 700 points is a half termly trip off site.
Secondary Rewards
All pupils that show good engagement and positive behaviour in lessons and around the school are able to go on an off-site rewards trip every Friday. Students are selected in relation to whether they have scored well with their positive sleuth points which are counted every Friday morning. Students also have a rewards assembly once a week where students from each class have the possibility of winning ‘Student of the week’ and ‘100% Attendance’ prizes. Students are nominated by their teachers and if they win, they can choose prizes from a selection of prize boxes. The contents of these prize boxes were selected by students through ‘Student Voice’. Students also have the possibility to receive a £5 voucher if they are recognised for positive behaviour choices during the week.
Student involvement in the creating of the rewards system has shown improved student ‘buy in’ and make these assemblies more of a celebration highlighting the behaviour and attitude we want to see across the academy.
There is also the opportunity for all our students to earn a place on our half termly reward trip. These trips were selected by students via ‘Student Voice’ and students can be eligible to attend these trips if they achieve over 900 positive sleuth points throughout the half term and show good attendance.
